PRE-TEAM PROGRAM

Our pre-team program is under the direction of coach Anastasia Sidorovich.  It is a non-competitive, developmental, achievement-oriented program.  Learning is structured and disciplined.

Level 2 (ages 5-6 years)

  • Continue to learn the basic positions of ballet and study the basic body preparation for rhythmic gymnastics: balances, turns, and jumps

  • Focus on flexibility, body elements/specific steps, dance, and artistry

  • Perform aesthetic tricks with the ribbon, ball, hoop, rope, and clubs

  • Learn routines that combine the grace and beauty of ballet, creative movement, and music

  • Prepare gymnasts for Level 3 or 4 depending on their ability

  • 3 sessions in a year, each session may run from 8-12 weeks, 1 to 2 classes per week, up to 2 hours per class (see class schedule and registration form)

  • Sessions usually begin in the fall, winter, and spring and students are encouraged to complete all 3 sessions in order to move up to the next level

  • Students successfully completing all 3 of the Level 2 (pre-team) sessions for the year are invited to join the Level 3 competitive (button for competitive page) or the group competitive program

Summer camp is helpful and supportive at this level.  It provides continuity of learning and development of new skills during the long break.
